This provincial museum in Shijiazhuang is best known for treasures from the Han-dynasty tombs of a prince and princess, including two exquisite jade burial suits sewn with gold wire and a gilt-bronze lamp shaped as a kneeling servant. Its galleries also hold Warring States artefacts from the ancient Zhongshan kingdom and Buddhist sculpture. Displays trace Hebei's long role encircling the imperial capital region. The refinement of its Han metalwork makes it a standout among northern Chinese collections.
