Opened in 2022 in Kuching, this is one of the largest museums in Southeast Asia, devoted to the peoples and environments of Borneo. Its five floors move from the island's natural history through the traditions of Dayak and other indigenous communities to contemporary Sarawak life. Reconstructed longhouses, ritual objects, textiles and interactive displays fill the airy galleries. The modern curved building complements the historic old Sarawak Museum nearby, together anchoring the city's cultural quarter.
