Kelantan State Museum

Housed in a colonial-era building in Kota Bharu, this museum presents the history, royalty and crafts of the culturally distinct state of Kelantan. Displays cover traditional Malay woodcarving, songket weaving, silverwork and the region's shadow-puppet and top-spinning traditions. Photographs and regalia document the sultanate and its ceremonial life. Part of a cluster of heritage museums around the old royal town square, it offers a focused look at northeastern Malay culture.
