Laura Village

Laura lies at the western tip of Majuro atoll, a rural, spread-out village that contrasts sharply with the crowded DUD urban strip at the atoll's eastern end. It is home to the atoll's widest land and best beaches, drawing residents for weekend picnics and swimming, and it holds a memorial to the fallen of past conflicts. The road to Laura runs the full length of the atoll, passing lagoon views the whole way. As the green, quieter counterpoint to the capital's density, Laura offers a relaxed shore and a sense of traditional island living.
