Tepuka is a small uninhabited islet on the western rim of Funafuti atoll, lying within the Funafuti Conservation Area. Ringed by white sand and reef, it is reached by boat across the lagoon and serves as a picnic and snorkelling destination where visitors can see turtles, reef fish and seabirds. The islet is a vivid illustration of the fragility of atoll land, having lost vegetation to past storms. Its pristine reef and quiet shores make it one of the most attractive natural excursions from the capital in a country with very few developed.
