Joske's Thumb is a dramatic volcanic plug rising abruptly from the hills inland of Suva, forming one of the most recognisable natural silhouettes near the capital. Its sheer, thumb-shaped rock tower is a remnant of an ancient volcano and a landmark visible from parts of the city and the Suva–Nadi corridor. The steep peak challenges climbers who approach through surrounding rainforest and rural villages. Long featured in local folklore, the formation gives the green interior behind Suva a distinctive profile.
