This modern high-rise beside the harbour serves as the headquarters of Uruguay's state telecommunications company and is among the tallest buildings in Montevideo. Designed by the architect Carlos Ott, its sculptural stepped form and curved profile rise above the port district and are visible from much of the city. Completed in the early 2000s, the tower includes offices, an auditorium and cultural spaces. Its bold silhouette has become a recognisable symbol of the contemporary skyline along the Río de la Plata.
