Maloka is an interactive science and technology centre in western Bogotá, opened in 1998 and largely built below ground. Its themed halls cover space, the human body, biodiversity and telecommunications through hands-on exhibits aimed at families and school groups. A domed cinema screens large-format films on nature and science. Named after the communal dwellings of Amazonian peoples, the museum was one of Latin America's earliest large science centres and remains a popular educational outing in the capital.
