Beside a river near the leeward village of Layou stands a large boulder carved with pre-Columbian petroglyphs, among the most significant rock-art sites in the eastern Caribbean. The engraved faces and geometric designs are attributed to the island's early Amerindian inhabitants. A small protected park interprets the carvings and their cultural context within Saint Vincent's Indigenous heritage. The riverside setting and the enigmatic images make it an important link to the island's earliest peoples.
