Baie-Saint-Paul is a historic town in the Charlevoix region of Quebec, set where a river meets the St. Lawrence amid rolling hills carved by an ancient meteorite impact. Long a magnet for painters drawn to its light and scenery, its main street is lined with galleries, craft shops and heritage houses. The town is regarded as a cradle of a famous Quebec circus troupe founded there in the 1980s. Its blend of art, food and dramatic riverside landscape has made it a cultural centre of the region.
