In Dodge City, this museum sits on the site of the original Boot Hill Cemetery, where those who died with their boots on were buried during the town's rowdy cattle-trade heyday. It recreates a block of 1870s Front Street with a saloon, general store, and other frontier buildings, and stages gunfight reenactments and variety shows in summer. Exhibits cover the cattle drives, buffalo hunting, and the famous lawmen and gamblers who passed through. The museum leans into Dodge City's legend as one of the wildest towns of the Old West.
