Omaha's Old Market is a historic warehouse district of brick and cobblestone streets, once the city's produce and wholesale center, now filled with restaurants, galleries, shops, and lofts. The late-19th-century buildings, with their loading docks and canopies, were saved from demolition and revitalized beginning in the 1960s. A passageway lined with shops threads through several buildings, and horse-drawn carriages still clatter over the cobbles.
