This downtown Des Moines park displays major works of contemporary sculpture across an open lawn free to the public at all hours. Pieces by internationally known artists including Jaume Plensa, whose white mesh head Nomade is a signature image, and works by Deborah Butterfield and others stand scattered among paths and grass. Donated by local collectors, the collection turned a former parking area into an urban art destination. The park connects to the city's cultural district and hosts outdoor events beneath the sculptures in warmer months.
