Serra Malagueta is a mountain range and protected natural park in the north of Santiago, the largest island of Cape Verde. Rising to over a thousand metres, its cool, mist-fed slopes support terraced farmland and pockets of endemic vegetation that contrast sharply with the arid lowlands. Hiking trails wind past viewpoints, deep ravines and small villages clinging to the ridges. The park safeguards some of the island's richest biodiversity and offers walkers panoramic vistas across Santiago's dramatic volcanic interior.
