The Natural History Museum in Bulawayo is one of the largest museums in the region and a leading centre for the natural sciences in southern Africa. Its collections cover mammals, birds, insects, reptiles and geology, and include a celebrated mounted elephant and a large assemblage of preserved specimens used for research across the continent. Dioramas recreate Zimbabwean habitats, and galleries trace human evolution and the region's mineral wealth. Set in Centenary Park, the museum draws school groups and researchers alike.
