The Ancien Pont is the old bridge over the lagoon channel in Cotonou that connects the two halves of the city and long served as its principal crossing. Around it clusters the busy Dantokpa district, and the bridge itself is a focal point of movement and trade. From its deck one can watch pirogues glide beneath and observe the daily life of the waterway. As one of the city's oldest infrastructure landmarks, it remains central to Cotonou's geography and its bustling commercial character.
