The National Museum of Togo in Lomé presents the history and cultures of the country through collections of pottery, jewellery, weaponry, musical instruments and royal regalia. Housed within the Palais des Congrès complex, it traces the traditions of the Ewe, Kabye, Mina and other Togolese peoples. Exhibits cover ritual objects, textiles and the material legacy of the country's kingdoms and colonial history. Compact yet informative, the museum offers a useful overview of Togo's ethnic diversity in the heart of the coastal capital.
