The National Museum of Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou preserves the country's ethnographic and artistic heritage, with masks, statuary, textiles and instruments from its many peoples. The grounds include open-air pavilions and reconstructed traditional dwellings, letting visitors compare Mossi, Bobo, Lobi and Gourounsi building styles. Exhibits highlight the ritual masks central to festivals across the country. Set in gardens, it introduces the cultural diversity of the West African interior.
