The Al-Abbas Shrine in Karbala honours the half-brother of Imam Husayn, killed alongside him in the seventh-century battle that shaped Shia identity. Its golden dome and richly decorated sanctuary stand a short distance from the shrine of Husayn himself, and the two draw enormous crowds during religious commemorations. The interior gleams with mirrorwork, silver, and calligraphy, while the courtyards accommodate streams of pilgrims. Visitors can observe the devotion and the ornate craftsmanship of the golden dome and portals.
