An early medieval church near the town of Gurjaani in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, unusual as the only surviving two-domed church in the country. Dating from around the eighth or ninth century, its distinctive design sets it apart from the standard single-domed plan of Georgian architecture. Built of stone and set among the vineyards of the wine-producing plain, it stands within a small compound. Its rarity and antiquity make it a monument of particular interest to those studying the varied church forms of the region.
