The most famous feature of Horton Plains in Sri Lanka's central highlands, World's End is a sheer escarpment where the plateau drops away in a dramatic cliff falling hundreds of metres to the lowlands below. Reached by a looping trail across misty grassland and cloud forest, the viewpoint offers vast panoramas on clear mornings before cloud typically obscures the drop by mid-day. The walk also passes a waterfall and unique montane habitat, making it a signature highland hike.
