Lunuganga

The country estate of the celebrated architect Geoffrey Bawa, Lunuganga near Bentota is regarded as a masterwork of tropical modernist landscape design. Over half a century Bawa transformed a former rubber plantation into a series of framed views, terraces, courtyards and pavilions that blur the boundary between building and garden. Sculptures, water and carefully composed sightlines reward slow exploration of the grounds, offering deep insight into the vision of an influential architect.
