The highest inhabited farm in the country, standing on the bleak eastern highland plateau at over four hundred metres above sea level. A small church built by a farmer in memory of his wife, decorated inside with his own naive paintings, is the focal point of the settlement. Surrounded by black desert and distant snow-capped peaks, the isolated farm long served as a waypoint on the arduous route across the interior. Its extreme remoteness and hand-built church make it a distinctive stop on the high road through the highlands.
