The ruins of an Augustinian abbey in the heart of Wexford town, traditionally linked to the treaty ending the first Anglo-Norman incursion into the area. A stout battlemented tower survives beside the roofless church, incorporated into the medieval town wall that still runs alongside. It is said that the first ordinance for the crusades was proclaimed here. Set among the narrow streets of the old town, the grey ruins and adjacent wall fragment anchor the medieval story of the port.
