The only working windmill preserved in the north, a whitewashed tower mill of the late eighteenth century standing on high ground near the Ards coast. Restored to grinding order, it retains its rotating cap, sails and internal machinery, with a miller's house and kiln alongside. Grain was ground here into the early twentieth century before steam power took over. Guided visits explain the milling process, and on breezy days the great sails turn above the surrounding farmland with views toward the sea.
