A large Bronze Age stone circle crowning a hill near Raphoe, its more than sixty stones enclosing a raised platform with wide views over the surrounding drumlins. One outlying pillar, decorated with cup marks, stands beyond the ring, and a carved stone head found here suggests ritual use. Alignments among the stones appear to mark the sunrise at certain times of year. The exposed hilltop position, ringed by close-set uprights of varying height, gives the monument a commanding and enigmatic presence.
