A well-preserved Franciscan friary on the tidal estuary of the river Moy, founded in the mid fifteenth century for the Third Order of the Franciscans. The church, cloister and domestic ranges survive nearly complete, with a fine sculpted piscina near the altar carved with a miniature round tower. It was burned in 1590 by the English governor of Connacht along with nearby Moyne. The estuary setting, with wading birds on the mudflats and the Nephin hills beyond, adds to the tranquil remoteness of the ruins.
