Mudejar Architecture of Aragon

After the Reconquista, Muslim craftsmen kept building for Christian patrons in Aragon, and from the 12th century their fusion of Islamic tradition with Gothic and other European currents produced Mudéjar art. Its glory is brickwork: bell towers in Teruel and Zaragoza wrapped in geometric patterns and glazed tiles of dazzling inventiveness, a tradition that stayed alive into the early 17th century. UNESCO inscribed the Mudéjar architecture of Aragon in 1986.
