Borisova Gradina is the oldest and best-known park in Sofia, laid out from the 1880s and named after Tsar Boris III. Its tree-lined avenues, ponds, and monuments stretch across a large area near the city centre and adjoin the national stadium and other sports grounds. Landscaped in stages by successive gardeners, it mixes formal parterres with woodland walks and Soviet-era memorials. Families, joggers, and cyclists fill the paths year-round, and the park remains a green refuge amid the growing capital.
