A three-tiered Roman aqueduct crossing the Gardon river in the Gard, constructed in the first century CE to carry water 50 kilometres from Uzès to Nîmes. The uppermost tier reaches 49 metres, making it the highest surviving Roman aqueduct. The surrounding garrigue landscape and the river's clear water, combined with the bridge's golden limestone, make early morning the optimal time for photography before organised groups arrive.
