A dramatic chalk headland on the Opal Coast in the Pas-de-Calais, rising 134 metres above the English Channel with clear-day views across to the Dover cliffs. The Obelisk of Dover Patrol and its exposed position create strong compositional anchors for seascape photography. The coastline northward to Calais and southward to Cap Gris-Nez forms the Côte d'Opale, known for its changing light conditions and frequent sea mist.
