This museum in the canal city of Yangzhou combines a general history collection with a dedicated museum of Chinese woodblock printing. Its prized object is a large slab of blue-flashed white porcelain from the Yuan dynasty, considered a national treasure. Galleries trace Yangzhou's prosperity as a salt-trade and Grand Canal hub, its literati painters and its refined lacquer and jade crafts. The printing wing preserves carved blocks and demonstrates the traditional techniques that flourished in the region.
