In the tiny village of Abiquiu northwest of Santa Fe, this adobe compound was the home and studio of painter Georgia O'Keeffe for much of her later life, where she produced many of her celebrated desert landscapes. She restored the ruined hacienda over years, keeping its spare interiors, patio, and a famous black door she painted repeatedly. Guided tours, arranged in advance, show the rooms much as she left them and interpret her connection to the surrounding red-rock country.
