This Greek Revival mansion on the western edge of Nashville was the centerpiece of a 19th-century thoroughbred horse farm and plantation whose bloodlines run through many champion racehorses. Guided tours cover the antebellum house, its architecture, and increasingly the lives of the enslaved people who built and sustained the estate. Outbuildings include a large carriage collection and a smokehouse, and a winery now operates on the grounds. The site's frank interpretation of slavery has become a central part of the visitor experience.
