Set on wooded grounds in the Buckhead district, this large history museum interprets the story of Atlanta and the American South. Its centerpiece is the restored Cyclorama, a colossal circular painting of the Battle of Atlanta from the Civil War, displayed with a three-dimensional diorama. The campus also includes the 1928 Swan House mansion, a historic farm, extensive gardens, and galleries on the civil rights era, the game of golf, and regional folk culture.
