One of the finest court tombs in the country, a Neolithic megalithic monument near the coast at the foot of Benbulben. A wedge-shaped cairn opens onto an oval forecourt where rituals were likely performed, leading to burial chambers where cremated remains and pottery were found. Built more than five thousand years ago, it lay near an ancient routeway along the western seaboard. The exposed setting, with the flat-topped mountain rising behind, lets visitors walk into the open court and along the length of the cairn.

Where next?

The world is wide open.
