A tall tower house overlooking the confluence of the Barrow and Suir rivers at Waterford harbour, built around 1450 and associated with the Knights Hospitaller. Restored as a small heritage site, its floors illustrate medieval domestic life, from the garderobe to the murder hole above the door. It guarded an important ferry crossing that still operates below. The whitewashed fishing village clustered around it, with boats drawn up on the slip, gives the fortified tower an intimate maritime setting.
