A well-preserved fifteenth-century tower house in the south of the county, distinctive for its intact bawn wall enclosing a small courtyard. Built by the Rossiter family, Anglo-Norman lords of the district, it retains stepped battlements and a corner turret typical of the fortified residences of the region. The five-storey tower stands amid farmland with wide flat views toward the coast. Its survival with the surrounding defensive enclosure largely complete makes it a valuable illustration of the tower-house-and-bawn form.
