The site of a deserted medieval town near Thomastown, once a thriving borough with a church, tower house, mill and streets now visible only as grassed-over earthworks. Abandoned by the seventeenth century, its lost lanes and burgage plots are traced on guided walks across private farmland. A ruined church holds a carved tomb said to mark the grave of Saint Nicholas, brought here by returning crusaders according to local tradition. The rolling pasture, grazed by sheep, preserves the buried outline of a whole vanished settlement.
