A recumbent stone circle near the south coast, seventeen closely set pillars enclosing a ring aligned to the setting sun at the midwinter solstice. Excavation found a cremated burial at the centre and, nearby, a hut and a cooking pit lined with stones that could boil water using heated rocks. Set on a low ridge with views to the sea, it is among the most visited prehistoric monuments in the region. The flat-topped altar stone opposite the two tallest portal stones frames the winter sunset for gathered observers.
