Hidden behind a Montparnasse street, this museum preserves the house and garden studio of the sculptor Ossip Zadkine, a leading figure of the École de Paris. Its modest rooms display his Cubist-influenced wood and bronze figures, while the small garden scatters sculptures among trees and ivy. Zadkine lived and worked here for decades, and the site retains the atmosphere of an artist's private world. The intimate scale, greenery and free permanent collection make it a tranquil retreat from the busy boulevards nearby.
